New Delhi: A six to seven-day-old infant was found crying on the roadside, allegedly abandoned near Aali Mor in southeast Delhi’s Sarita Vihar, before Delhi Police rushed to the spot and rescued the newborn.

According to police, the infant was spotted by PCR staff. The newborn was immediately taken to AIIMS paediatric emergency, where doctors provided medical care. Police said the child was in a fragile condition when found and needed immediate attention.

The quick intervention by PCR team proved crucial, ensuring that the newborn received treatment before the situation could turn worse. Doctors are currently monitoring the infant, while police have begun efforts to piece together what happened before the child was found alone on the road.

Investigators are now trying to establish where the infant came from and who brought the child to the spot. CCTV footage from Aali Mor and surrounding areas is being examined to reconstruct the sequence of events and identify the person who abandoned the newborn.

Police are also making inquiries in the surrounding area for any information that could help establish the child’s identity and trace the circumstances that led to the infant being left by the roadside.
