In Kumuram Bheem Asifabad a newborn was rescued from a cotton field while an infant abandoned national highway succumbed to injuries in Adilabad .

Motherhood is often regarded as one of the most sacred blessings in a woman’s life. At a time when many women long for this gift, incidents of newborns being abandoned moments after birth are deeply disturbing.

But a newborn was allegedly abandoned in a cotton field in Telangana’s Kumuram Bheem Asifabad district.

The incident came to light on the outskirts of Seethanagar in Kagaznagar mandal, when locals spotted a suspicious bundle lying in a field. Upon closer inspection, they were shocked to find a newborn baby wrapped in cloth.

They immediately alerted the police. Officials rushed to the spot, rescued the infant, and took the child into protective care. The baby was later handed over to the Bal Sadan authorities. Doctors who examined the infant confirmed that the child was healthy.

However, the identity of the person who abandoned the baby—and the circumstances behind the act—remain unclear. Investigators are probing whether the mother was forced into such a situation or if it was an act of cruelty.

Police have registered a case and launched a search operation. The investigation is underway, with teams scanning CCTV footage and gathering inputs from residents to trace those responsible.

In another disturbing incident reported just three days ago from Gudihatnoor mandal in Adilabad district, an infant boy, barely a few months old, was abandoned on a national highway.

The child reportedly suffered severe head injuries after being left on the road and was found dead at the scene, leaving locals in shock.

Police reached the spot after receiving information and shifted the body to Adilabad RIMS Hospital for a postmortem. A case has been registered, but the identity of those who abandoned the child remains unknown, with the investigation still ongoing.
